Ezra aka Ezzy Bear was almost 9 years old and the sassiest 80lb husky there ever was. He was also the sweetest, laziest, funniest and the best younger/older brother. He was the most amazing unofficial service dog anyone could ask for. I have had a chronic pain condition since 2003 when I was 13 called CRPS which causes so much pain that I cannot function, and in 2019 I lost my right leg and started having FND seizures that were just recently diagnosed. He has never left my side for anything. Through the pain, the seizing, the brain fog, the screaming episodes, the black outs, etc.and he always warns me when it’s about to happen. He loved making new friends with bigger and smaller animals. He was amazing with people and loved kids. He loved to howl at the noon whistle and he was the honorary extra whistle for the Waterloo Fire Department in Waterloo, Nebraska where we live. Ernie (his older white husky brother and I, his mama) rescued him while we were living in Arizona for a very short time. We lived there for about a year before moving back to Nebraska. But after being there for about 3 months on April 31, 2016 Ernie and I were left there by an ex that left us there abruptly, long story short, someone left a 5 week old red husky on one of the condos Ernie and I lived in. The office came to us and asked up if we would want to take this puppy for a day until they could find something else to do and I said of course. So Ernie and I went down to the office, I saw the puppy, 2 seconds later I told them that I would be keeping the puppy. They said “what?” I told them I would already in love with him. It was love at first sight. When I locked eyes with him, I instantly called him Ezra, he wagged his tail at me and woofed, I knew I was meant to be his mama. They put him in my arms and he started licking my face all over and our love story started. Ernie and I took him to our condo and our family was complete. Ernie was in love with his little brother already. He loved playing with him, picking on him and being annoyed by him. Perfect match. The first night we all snuggled in bed together and always did for almost 9 years later, never missed a night together. After moving back to Nebraska with my grandparents he won the hearts of his gma and gpa, especially his gpa. He loves to make sure gpa knew if he ate his dinner that at 7pm it was ice cream time, lol. He would talk to him, follow him around, try to annoy him, and eventually jump behind him in the recliner and lick his ear until he got his way, LOL. He always got his way, HAHA. He loved to watch and help gpa clean the hot tub, watch him work outside and do yard work, oh and he never helped, he was definitely the laziest work dog ever but but was a bossy boss to make sure you were doing your job right. Dada is gunna miss the ridiculous amount of make out kisses he gets while trying to work out lol. And GMA is going to miss the high pitch yelling he did to her in the kitchen to startle her to get her to get a biscuit from her or a piece of bread lol. There is a huge whole in all of our hearts that can never be filled with him being gone. From me, Ashlee- He was my beat friend. My first true love. The love of my life. My bed partner. My safe haven. My nurse. My dependent. My heart. I love you always. I don’t know when the tears will stop.
<3 I his mama (Ashlee) will miss him forever. So will all of our family (dada Brandon, gpa Rich, gma Nancy) and Ernie(12 white husky), Elliott(2 1/2 black/white husky) and Emma(silver lab)
